Kolony Rebel body part sprues - first pics

After what seems like ages here's the first shots of our Kolony Rebel body part sprues.

Each sprue contains five different bodies or legs and come with a mix of battered clothing and weapons. Keen converters will see that the amount of variation you can get even with these first 4 sprues is massive. Couple this with the different heads options and the variations are endless. The legs don't have cast-on bases as we've noticed more and more people have been snipping them off our figs and using fancy decorative resin bases. This will no doubt annoy some people but we think it works ok.

Already on the workbench are non-scruffy legs with kneepads and sidearms, new body armour variants, new weapons and non gasmasked heads. Eventually we will do greatcoat legs and standard militia bodies and even revisit the heavy infantry range.

Another thing we have done is make the sprue (which is usually thrown away) into piles of small rocks and rubble - these can be snipped up and used to decorate your bases.

I'll be doing an official news release soon when I've got some more pics of the individual parts.

  1. These are fantastic!... they are perfect for my plans of a Necromunda game.. I am going to buy these for sure :O)

Will there be a Sprue of Bare heads for this range?

    and what about pistol-wielding bodies?

  2. Everything is up for consideration. We want to get some must-have parts out there first then expand into more unusual parts.

  3. They look tremendous! Multi-part will suit your minis admirabley and I'm really pleased you're 'losing' the bases. Inspired use of the sprues too!

  5. I like the pads on the knees. Realistic. These could be great for customizing as well.

  6. Well, time to get my rebels project out of storage and begin getting it finished now that we have some good stuff for bodies here. Thank you for not putting them on bases.

Are the torsos and legs going to be bought seperately or as a pack together?

And just to sate my excited curiosity - can you give us any details of the non-gasmasked heads as to what they are going to look like such as types of headwear and any other odds and ends like bandannas and ski-masks or whatever?

  7. The legs and the body sprues are going to be sold separately so you can mix and match to your hearts content.
As the amount of parts expands we want gamers to be able to build figures that range from modern (very near future) insurgents to futuristic carapace armoured hard nuts and everything in between.
The kolony rebels were a good place to see if it was going to work and if people liked the separate body parts idea. We plan on doing a variety of non-gasmask heads and one definately on the cards is an set with ski masks, scarves over faces and caps etc.
Ultimately we want Pig Iron to be the place people come to build armies to suit their own tastes and requirements.

  8. Well they look fantastic, very nice direction to take your miniature range as well. Ideal for people who already have your stuff and want to add some extra variation, as well as great for people who are looking for alternative bits.

  9. Very much looking forward to this release - I'm a huge fan of kit-bashing stuff together, so the legs in particular will be very useful to me. Good luck with these, they're great! Andy

  10. Will these be sized to work with heroic-sized plastic parts or in line with previous releases from Pig Iron? Either way a bit of GS and tinkering will go a long way.

  11. The general sizing of these works with our existing kolony lines but we have made the sections where the belt on the bodies joins the legs work nicely with 'heroic-sized plastic parts'.

It would have been daft not to do it like that.
